Traditional  acoustic music for the 21st Century

Bill divides his time between recording / producing acoustic music, performing and teaching

 Engineer / Producer

  • The mass of electronic processing modules, tape machines and bulky sound desks traditionally associated with sound recording have been replaced with compact and versatile digital equipment.
  • Earwig provides mobile recording and production possibilities that were unthinkable in even the best equipped studios of the last 20 years.
  • Professionally trained in digital audio recording / production (Avid Pro Tools) plus live sound management, Bill graduated with distinction from the prestigious Manchester School of Sound Recording

 Teacher and Musician

  • Lessons in lap slide guitar, ukulele and guitar are all individually tailored
  • A professional educator and trainer for nearly 30 years Bill is a firm believer that with a little will and application anyone can play music for themselves – age is no barrier at all (current private students encompass a very wide age range  indeed!).
  • He has presented slide guitar workshops at music festivals around the UK for many  years and is proud to have been part of the teaching staff at the world renowned Sore Fingers Summer School in October 2008, 2009 and 2011
  • Review from Acoustic Magazine –The Sore Fingers Experience – Beginners Dobro class (09)
“Because of his relaxed approach, no one felt intimidated by their technique, or absence thereof, and Bill’s avowed intention that everyone would leave with a tune to play was achieved with much laughter and enjoyment along the way”
  • When not in the studio or performing, you may catch him acting as master of ceremonies or presenting instrument workshops at summer music festivals throughout the UK.
